Offers a ton of new elements to keep you glued to your screen for hours. Whether playing against the computer or online, "The Conquerors" improves an already fantastic game.

Computer Games Magazine

It manages to improve an already stellar game, adds a helpful and interesting stack of new features, and offers nearly as much scripted gameplay as the original title.

It's as if Michaelangelo came down, picked up an already beautiful painting and made it a masterpiece.

PC Gameworld

Everything that is changed works perfectly, and all of the new civs and units add flavor to the game. A must buy in every sense of the word.

Da Gameboyz

An excellent addition to the original game. It offers increased depth, extends the replay ability of the game, and offers enough tweaks to eliminate some of the frustrations.

PC Gamer

If you failed to get Age of Empires II before, you have absolutely no excuse now. This is as good as real-time strategy gets. [Nov 2000, p.126]

Gamezilla!

Does not boast any huge spectacular changes from "Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings," but gives a lot of great little extras.

Should serve as an example for other companies how an expansion pack should be done.

You definitely get a lot of bang for your buck and fans of the series should be more than happy with the results.

All Game Guide

Not only does it offer more of everything, but it also makes enough changes so that even the old material from the original game feels new and exciting.

Just when Age of Empires II was starting to seem a little played out, Ensemble Studios has made it a game that might just keep you up late again with The Conquerors expansion.

Adrenaline Vault

Instead of merely giving out a few major embellishments -- and there are those -- Ensemble went a number of steps further by enhancing nearly every aspect of the game.

It provides new elements to a game that, after three years, is still one of the best in the civ genres.

The multiple additions in "The Conquerors" add up to be more than enough to entice "Age of Kings" players to focus their attention on this ambitious, deeply strategic game once again - and for a long time.

Incredibly balanced and well polished. If you have AoK, you must get The Conquerers Expansion.

a very expansive and well thought out package that should be worth the money for most PC gamers.

If you (liked "Age of Empires II") then "Conquerors" is more of what you love minus a lot of the management frustrations and with a whole lot more options.

The new building sets and weaponry make the purchase well worth it and after playing for a while with the new farm-queue, you'll wonder how you ever played the game without it!

Game Over Online

Included in this very good expansion pack is what amounts to a patch for AOE2. Their 'you want us to clean up some gameplay issues for AOE2, you've got to buy the expansion pack' attitude gripes my cookies.

Spank!

It's not just doing the same rack & attack routine that it could have been, the programmers have added well thought-out missions that are good fun.

CNET Gamecenter

This expansion's additions prove that more is indeed better, but the balancing issues are troubling.
